4-Hour Traffic School

Complete this basic driver improvement course (BDI) if you have received a ticket for a non-criminal moving violation (speeding, careless, stop sign, traffic light, u-turns, fail-to-yield the right of way, improper passing, etc...), and you do not hold a commercial driver license.  You may elect to attend this 4-Hour course in lieu of getting the point on your driving record.  Also, court-ordered traffic school, or DHSMV-ordered traffic collision avoidance course (TCAC). You may only complete this course every 12 months, and no more than 5 times in your lifetime.

• Your insurance rates cannot go up and your policy cannot be cancelled because of this violation, unless this involved a crash where you were at fault.

• Points may not be added to your driver license record, adjudication of guilt is withheld, and safe driver status is maintained if applicable.

In some cases, you may choose to attend a basic driver improvement course to receive insurance discounts. This discount is solely at the discretion of your insurance company. (Check with your insurance company before you register.)

This 4-Hour Course is approved by the State of Florida.
